Happy New Year

It has been a while since I wrote my last blog post, so thought what better time to write one, than now! Before the year 2008 ends...

Here’s wishing you and your family a Very Happy & Prosperous New Year.

Another Year has come again. A New Year means to make a bunch of resolution... which in fact, I'll forget about it after a few weeks.. :-P.

I am now getting my thoughts together about the way I approach this time of year - there are lots of events to attend. I intend to enjoy all the events and the company of friends, family and colleagues.

However I have a more personal goal for New Year which is to become fitter.I am looking for a way to self motivate; to get out more and physically work my body. I am looking for something that works me without it feeling like a chore - an enjoyable, fun activity.

My final wish is for all of us: May the year ahead be one of peace, health and prosperity.

The "Magik" has done its magic

The promos of the movie “Rock On” had actually rocked all of us even before it hit the theaters. Earlier it was Divya who was very much interested in watching this movie. But, after looking at the movie’s rating (****) even I was interested. Vandana too joined us for the movie. We thought of starting at 1.00 pm, so that we can get the tickets for 2.30pm show. We happen to start at 1.45 pm, which actually is very late when you don’t have the tickets. We had no hopes that we will get the tickets. Just before of us 2 guys went to the counter, checking for the tickets but they didn’t get. Still Divya went to the counter to check, and luckily 4 tickets were available. Which were couple tickets? Before this none of us heard what couple tickets are?
3 people and 4 tickets!!!!!!
We saw those 2 guys waiting outside the theatre. We asked them if they can manage to get 1 ticket, we can give them 1 ticket. These guys got one & we also would have wasted the ticket otherwise. While entering, ticket checker asked us where is the fourth one? We told he is coming. Amazing seats……. It’s actually a sofa meant for 2 to sit. I and Vandna took one sofa. On other sofa Divya waiting for the guy to come, to whom we sold the ticket hehehee.
We saw 2 guys and a girl sitting. We went to them asking if they would mind sitting in this couple seat. We were fortunate that they agreed.
Then about movie The "Magik" has done its magic. The crucial aspect is being passionate about the thing you love. About pursuing your passion. I liked Purab Kohli’s (Killer Drummer-KD) character. "Rock On" left all of us feeling happy even hours after we had left the theater. I would say that the movie is a must watch! All Songs in the movie are good. I liked “Tum ho to gata he dil……..” song the most.

So Rock On and Keep Rocking!!!!!

Farewell Party at work

Just 1 week passed that Sudheer left(29/07/2008) the team. And time has come for two more in the team to leave, with one person leaving the Team, every week. It looks like some season has started.
It’s just 20 people team. If people continue to leave at the same pace then in few weeks the team will be of size NULL.
Rohit left on 8/8/08. What a special day is this day. Its 08-08-08, means August 08, 2008…So what is it with this 888 that makes it special? Not only that it’s a good luck numbers but also the beginning of the most anticipated, most awaited Beijing Olympic! Yes OLYMPICS! For those who are sports minded people, it’ll be the time where their hours and eyes are set on their televisions for every game that they’re countrymen will be playing….
Rohit Leaving the team didn’t come as a surprise for anyone. He left for higher studies. He is a person who's got talent. A wonderful person to work with and was a great asset for the company too. A laugh riot, this person single handedly can bring to life any dull party. He really lights up the groups. We had a lot of laughs...Yesterday we (Buddy, Deepak, Rashmi and me) had a small farewell gathering at Rashmi’s house. We gonna miss him.
Another one who resigned, is Guru(14-08-08), my cubicle-mate. Miya is what we used to call him. The way he speaks Hindi is amazing which is called Hyderbadi Hindi. Soon he will be getting married. Wishing you all the best in your future undertakings! And don’t forget to call us for your marriage.

HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY!!!

3rd August, some might wonder what relevance it has to this post. The relevance is not the date, it is the day. The first Sunday of August... Yes, it is World Friendship Day today and I wish all my dear and wonderful Friends a very Happy Friendship Day.

A quick search tells me only this:
In 1935 American Government had killed a person on 1st Saturday of August the next day his friend died committing suicide. In his memory American Government had declared 1st Sunday of every August as Friendship day.

We are receiving a lot of messages. One of my friends sent me a nice message. Here it goes,
“Its not an achievement to make 1000 friends in a year, but an achievement is when one make a friend like you for 1000 years.” Happy friendship day.

Hope you liked.

So here’s wishing every friend of mine a very Happy Friendship Day!! Every one of you has a special place in my heart and I’d like to thank you all for making my life that much more worth living!!
Hoping that these bonds keep on gathering strength
with every passing moment…

Cheers

Wishing one and all a very happy friendship day!!

How much should you make???

Yesterday was the salary day, which is supposed to be the best of all the working days in the month.
Sometime back when I was studying, I had a big list of the things I wanted to do, when I will start earning. So many things I wanted to do.
I remember the day I got 1000 bucks for teaching C as I was considered to be a good C coder in college. I used to enjoy reading more and more books on C. The book I liked the most was “Test you C Skills”…. which had some sample code and you need to find the output. And best part is the output used to be something else than that you would think of. Also the book has a very good explanation about why the output is so. Wait…. I am not publicizing the book.
We used to have open books test, which I cleared most of the times. Those were some of the good moments in life.
What happened to those 1000 bucks? I spent those the very same day buying all the things I wanted. And I was actually happy to get those 1000 bucks. Not that happy to get the salary in my account.

Salary has become a need which ends up paying all the bills/cards.

On the Last Day

Another Last Day mail…..
I really don’t feel that I am about to complete "2 years" working in this team. What made me realize this is, when people started leaving the company. I am feeling bit bad about this guy leaving CA. Have I really passed so much time that people started leaving?

Today I got Last day at CA (Date: 29th July)” mail from Sudheer. I knew that he is going to leave soon. But I didn’t know that he will leave so early.
I was actually surprised. I feel like he joined us, just few days back and time has come to say Good bye to him.
He is a very good, polite and kind hearted. This is what anyone who knows him will say. I haven’t met anyone who can be so polite even when things are not going the right way. Seems he doesn’t know how to get angry. He always speaks nicely. I haven’t seen him getting angry over, anything you tell him. We actually used to make so much fun of him. I wish everyone was calm and polite like him.

Evening everybody in team gathered in the conference room, to hear and speak something about sudheer. It is actually tough to speak about someone, specially when he is leaving. Sudheer was not at all sad about leaving the company. He actually was looking happy about his decision of leaving the company. He left the company in just 9 months. I feel it was tough for him to work in this kind of envt. When asked what was his happiest and sadest moment after joining CA? I feel he wanted to say... his happiest day was today when he is leaving the company. And sadest of course everybody can guess.
I had very less interaction with him. But he can actually impress you with the way he speak.
I wish him a very good luck and hope he will be in touch wherever he goes.

There are few more people in the queue to leave.

Don't Just Forward e-mails

Today I got a forwarded mail from a colleague of mine, which most of us normally would delete after looking at the statement which says:

"Forward it to these many people otherwise you will have bad luck for these many years and all".

I would have deleted the mail straight away.

But this mail had some written, which stopped me from deleting it:

“Something major will happen which you have been wanting”

And other thing is

“The phone will ring right after you fwd this mail”.

Hoping this I forwarded the mail to 10 people. As I was eagerly waiting for phone to ring. And yes it did ring. But But But. It was not my mobile phone. It was office landline ringing.

And it was Sarath calling for some issue. “Was this the thing I was waiting for and forwarded this mail to 10 people?”

Anyways my suggestion to everybody is: Don't forward any mail which says “Forward it to these many people”

Is Change Always a Good Thing???

Now that I am not that busy in morning, as I have stopped going to gym. Also as I reach office early, I can best utilize my time writing blogs. Well everyday is a new day. You plan to do things and you feel that you continue doing those things throughout your life.

Even I made many plans.
1) Like going to gym regularly. I did go regularly for few months. But then my friend Pradnya, with whom I used to go, left the city. So even I stopped going.
2) I started playing Lawn Tennis sometime back, which now I have stopped. We have a very good Tennis court in campus. And sometime back I used to go for Tennis classes. I am just a beginner. But I enjoy playing still. I remember my Instructor Saying : “HIT THE BALL. DON’T PUSH THE BALL”.
3)
You make friends. You want to be with them forever. But this probably can never happen.

"Nothing is forever".

The company for which I work also says “Change Always”
There are many more plans you make in life. You feel things will be the same forever. But circumstances and situations will net let things go the same way.

So change whether its good or bad ... U survive.

My Weekends

I remember the time when I came to Hyderabad, some two and half years ago. New place, people and everything was new for me. It was not the first time I was going to some new place as Dad is in Army. So I have been to many places in India. But this time I was all alone in Hyderabad.
I didn’t know anybody here – No friends. I used to hate weekends. I used to wish if there were no Weekends or at least not two days off. I don’t have a place to go other than office on the weekends.
But slowly and steadily I started liking weekends like others do. Now, almost every weekend I go out. Even if I don’t go out I have friends to whom I can just sit and chat.
From last month i.e. June 21st some good time has started for me. I now enjoy my weekends. It not as boring and dull as it used to be sometime ago.

Now I feel weekends are really good. You really need weekend.
And 2 days off at least in a week is required.

Travelling in Monsoon Season

Rain rain go away,
Come again another day.
Little Johnny wants to play;
Rain, rain, go to Spain,
Never show your face again!
This trip I planned as soon as I was back from home i.e. on 14th of April. I am not very home sick. But I do feel bad when I return back. Reason being I don’t really enjoy staying here in Hyderabad. The day I was back from home I booked my ticket to go again on 4th of July. Bcoz I was missing home.
I came to know that it’s raining badly over there and some bridge also is broken. Just 1 day before I was about to leave I came to know that train also is taking some other route. I was really sad about it. I thought of cancelling the trip as flight tickets prices were very high. But mom and dad wanted me to come home. My friends were asking me not to go. How can I miss chance of going home? When I took the leave even my lead was not ready to give.
Finally I booked the flight ticket and did go. Seriously it was raining badly there.
“The city roads and junctions reel under heavy water logging”, “Traffic halted for hours on highways”. I couldn’t go out anywhere, was at home all the time. Returning again was a big problem as all the trains were taking some different route. I again had to take Monday off, bcoz of all these problems. Still I won’t say I won’t go if it rains.
I hope it rains. But not in excess, that you stop enjoying rains. :)

Tirupati Trip

On June 28-29, we visited Tirupati, Tirumala Devsthanam. It was a long awaited trip and finally Lord called us to be there on Jun 29th weekend. After reaching Tirupati, we straightaway proceeded to Tirumala Hills. Before starting the Ascent to Tirumala Hills, we need to get security test done. We took some rest at Tirumala and then took Lunch in Tirupati. It was a summer afternoon and was very hot. I feel temperature must be above 40 Degrees, but still cool breeze from the blessed mountains made it better.

After Lunch we visited two temples in Tirupati. These are:

*Kaleshwari Temple

* ISKCON Temple

We had taken darshan ticket from Hyderabad itself in advance. But got to know that… for that ticket line is really big. So we managed to get letter from the director, which helped us to get Accomodation (Padmavati Guest House) and AAD Tickets. On Sunday, 29th Jun at 5.30 AM was darshan time. We woke up at 1.00 AM. We all got ready and at around 3:00 AM, and started walking towards the temple. I have never b4 gone walking at this time. But you wont feel like its 3.00 Am as you see people all around. The line for darshan was like moving on and on. …. We were eagerly waiting to reach the temple. We had darshan in just a matter of 3 hours, which we didnt expect. And its really very peaceful. I really liked the place. The kind of peace you get. We all were hungry after Darshan. Wake up early and don’t have have anything 2 eat. That is bit bad. We were eagerly waiting 4 some place 2 open where we can get something 2 eat. Everywhere you need 2 wait for hours. We finally reached a restaurant, which was open and they were serving only small idli’s dipped in sambar and upma. We were really hungry. So ate Sambar as well as Upma. At around 10:30Am we started descent from Tirumala Hills and came back to Tirupati.
After that we went a nearby temple call kalhastiWe started at around 6.30 PM for our return journey and reached around 6:30 AM to our home.
I feel once atleast you should go….

Trip was very satisfying and we all were very happy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2 ME

Birthday 2008

This Birthday again, was in same hostel like last 2 years. I knew my hostel friends are going to get me cake. So I planned not to sleep until 12, as they are going to wake me up again. So it is better to keep myself awake. I tried my best to be awake. But couldn't. :).

Like last 2 years they again had a chance to wake me and wish me.

This Year a got a Bouquet :) I am so happy. This was the first bouquet, I have ever got. Thanks to my hostel friends.
Next question comes is: What should you be doing on your birthday?
Well What I did was attended Marriage Reception of a very good Friend. That sounds very strange. People were asking me for treat. I asked them to come to Alankrita(Marriage Reception) .
Don’t think that I haven't given tr8 as yet. You cannot escape without giving tr8.
This Year in all we had 3 treats.
1) One of Ex-Teammates, at a very nice place called Flavors (Malaysian Township).Nice place, nice food. I hope I could afford to stay there!!!!!
2) Second treat to my hostel friends in Celebrations (Balloons)
3) Third and the final treat, was at a newly opened Restaurant called 36 chattees. Too good. Like the food, ambience.

Get lots of gifts also. Thanks to everybody for joining the party. Had a great time this year also, like last 2 years here in Hyderabad. I wish my next birthday is also in Hyderabad.

Life Surprises

" Surprises are tooooo GOOD"

Most of time, I go home, I buy something for my sister. This time also, I bought, as usual.
I forgot that her birthday is coming.
I don't do anything much, other than wishing her. This time I just thought, What if I send the gift? So that she gets it on her b'day. She will be more happy and surprised also. As I have not sent anything anytime before:)

She got it today. And, she was Really Surprised to see as to who sent this to her.
I wish if I was in her place, I would also have been Happy, like she was at the moment.

One more incident I remember.
When My roomie joined Hostel. Just few days after she joined, was her Birthday. She was not expecting that anybody is going to celebrate her Birthday. We are not so bad, as she expected us to be :) . We did arranged cake and Gift for her. It was really nice to see, huge smile on her face.

When you expect the least and you get something you will be really very very.... happy. Also, you will enjoy giving suprise. Try it out.

I wish, if I would have got, this kind of surprises in my Life.

Wedding

Now its like "Marriage Season" is started. So many marriage everyday. In my team of around 10 Unmarried People. 2 got married this year and one got engaged. One of them joined the team 1 week back. Everybody in team is getting married. Those who are not getting married are getting engaged.
It makes me think that now we have become so old."

Well The day started with attending a friend's Marriage (Arvind). He irritates me a lot. I wont forget, "the photo" which he keeps forwarding to team. The accent he uses is also amazing. That is called Hyderabdi Hindi. I am also learning.
This was the second marriage I attended.

His was Love cum Arranged Marriage. This couple was looking really happy.
Usually you wont find people being so happy at the time of marriage.
"Wish them a very Happy and Married Life"
I guess that in Arranged Marriage...... You wont be so happy.
As you don't know each other well. Everybody has his open Opinion. I dont have experience. But this is my opinion.
***** Do what you like and what you want *****

Girl or Boy

How this topic came into picture is....
We went to Ohri's Banjara for one of my Friend's Birthday Party.
You can see a Palmist sitting there. He read my plams and told lot many things.

I wont bore you by writing all the thing he told.
I am not kidding you, when I tell you that Accuracy level was 99%.

One thing he told was
"That my parents have always treated me like a boy instead of girl." So my habits are like that of guy instead of a girl. But anyways how does that matter to me.
I don't know how true this is.

After Lunch break as usual normal conversation started.
One friend of mine says
"She is a girl but she wants 2 become boy"

And other one says with a pause....
"Na re na na 50-50 "

They all then started making fun.
If I am he or She. Then conclusion was calling me it. So that they dont need to think much before they say anything to me. :(

26Feb2008

This is my first blog . ...................
What made me write blog is awwwwwwwwww well

I read a novel by "Who will cry when you die" Robin Sharma, which says you should always keep record of whatever good or bad has happened to you in a diary.

Bad things coz you don't repeat the mistakes.

Good Things, who mind writing good thing.

Writing diary is not possible as I spend, almost 12 hours a day working on Computer.

So, I thot its easy writing a blog instead of diary.

Here goes my day..........

  • The day started like usual day. I played Lawn Tennis in morning.

  • Then went to Gym with Pradnya for exercise.

  • Morning started with dose from my lead, as I forgot to inform him about the progress made.

  • We(Me, Pradnya, Rohit, Rashmi and Deepak) went for Lunch to Punjabi Rasoi.

Now I have made Index. so that I can give my OCP certification in March and can plan of going home. So had to study yesterday till 11.30Pm. So that I can finish things on time. :(

Bad Things about Today
At times people are really rude. Even if u don't like things its really difficult to tell. :(
