My New City - Kolkatta
I stayed at Hyderabad for close On September 29th 2010, I Shifted from Hyderabad to Kolkata.I stayed at Hyderabad almost 5 years. Hyderabad is an "Excellent" place to stay. If, I was asked to rate Hyderabad in the scale of (0-5), of all the places I have stayed till date. I would give Hyderabad 5 Points.
29th Sep 2010 :
I reached Kolkata at 2PM. Took a Prepaid Taxi to a Guest house(Which, I booked a day before I had to leave Hyderabad). Taxi Driver wasn't able to locate the place. He was asking for more money. I didn't agree first. But, then he was rude, he asked to get down from the Taxi if we don’t pay him more. Strange!!! He was first person in Kolkata I was talking to.
Then we reached the Guest House. The owner of the Guest House was good and nice to talk with. She gave me a room, but later I got to know that only guys are staying there. I asked her if she can shift me to other guest house. She then shifted me to her Service Apartment, which is near my office (@walk able distance). I could see the office from the apartment.
30th Sep 2010
I got ready and reached office around 9AM. Got to know that office would be closing by 2 PM due to Ram Mandir Issue. We just filled the documents and submitted to HR that day. And then as the office was closed early, I went to see a flat, which I got to know through a friend's reference. It was not very difficult to reach there. What I knew was that the flat is fully furnished from one of girl staying in the flat. But was surprised to see, how people could stay, at such a place. The room was in 4th floor and there was no lift. Also, was too congested to accommodate 3 persons. I told them the same thing. But they said it is late and they can't get other roommate now. So I should stay with them for some time. I agreed to stay for 1 month, as I talked to one of them earlier and she was friendly. But, others all started forcing me to stay for at least 2 months, to which I didn't agree. Also, I didnt like their behaviour. And they were saying that I cannot get a room bigger than this in Kolkata. For a moment I thought of leaving kolkata :( and going back to Hyderabad. Also, I had other offer as well in Hyderabad which tempted me to leave Kolkata.
1st Oct 2010
Reached office at 9AM. We had to submit the form for ID-Card. They asked for photo with a white background. I wasn't having any photo with a white background. I asked for a photo studio nearby. But nothing seems to be nearby. You need to take a Auto and go to sector 5. I reached Sector 5, but couldn't find any studio. Asked few people, they told to walk little bit. But, couldn’t find anything nearby. I then saw, a Pedal Rickshaw and asked him for the nearby photo studio. He told he will charge 20 bucks. He dropped me @studio. The place was looking more like a village. I was afraid to enter the studio also :'( but I had no choice. Was feeling as if I am all alone at a place and nobody would even know if I am lost here. Took the pics and was relieved after reaching back to office.
Then the day passed at office. For Dinner I had bread and Jam. It is difficult for me to survive without Tea. I used to have at least 4 cup of Tea everyday@ Hyd. But here the day ended, without a cup of Tea.
2n Oct 2010
Got up around 10AM as it was a weekend and went in search of a room. Got few numbers for and then finally went to see 2 of them. One was very near office and good. But food you are supposed to cook on your own. And the other one was little far, but they had a maid to cook the food. Second option looked better to me. :) But they don’t seem to eat Onion. To which I agreed to. It is better to manage onion-less food rather than cooking.
3rd Oct 2010
Shifted to the flat and eating onion-less. But at least you get the food cooked. But I can manage with that.
4th Oct 2010
Reached office and back a normal day. No work.
5th Oct 2010
I missed my stop while returning from office. And then was lost and it was actually very very difficult to search the room. The colony looks alike. Again the best option is take a Pedal Rickshaw when you are lost. He will drop you at home.
Now time for weekend has come ............. :(
I really miss Hyderabad badly. Missing all my friends.......... We used to have fun there.
Here I will sit all alone in a room. :(

Highway of life
Maybe you just trust the guy who’s driving you; you just have simply no idea where you’re going anymore?
Will you panick? Maybe not if you trust the driver - or if you are driving and you’re a pretty cool person who doesn’t panick easily.
Have you just ever gone so far into one journey on the highway and then suddenly decided that you wanted to change course?
Your mind would probably process faster than a Intel Core 2 Duo as you scan all the road signs.
Or maybe sometimes, you just like to drive aimlessly. “Take me anywhere” to the driver cause you simply dunno where to go.
Sometimes, it’s just so much like life.
We go about our journeys, do our thing, without ever knowing where we’re going.
Or we go so far down the highway of life, only to realise that this is not where we wanna go and frantically search for the nearest exit to change course.
But I guess, it’s better late than never.
Better than realising that you are on the wrong highway, set on a journey you don’t want to be on.
And I guess it’s OK to be aimless once in a while, but for your whole life?
Do we really know where you’re going today?
I do hope We’ll enjoy your ride on the highway of life. :)
"World is a stage, on which we are placed to act out our lives. It is aworld that is beautiful and good, made with care and with intention, and we -- youand I -- are made with special care and particular intention, made to be like God. Tthe way to life, is set before us. There is the way! Follow it! Choose life! The stage is set, and the rest of the statement testifies to what God does in responseto what we do on that stage, what God does in response to what we have done onthat stage."

Happy New Year
It has been a while since I wrote my last blog post, so thought what better time to write one, than now! Before the year 2008 ends...
Here’s wishing you and your family a Very Happy & Prosperous New Year.
Another Year has come again. A New Year means to make a bunch of resolution... which in fact, I'll forget about it after a few weeks.. :-P.
I am now getting my thoughts together about the way I approach this time of year - there are lots of events to attend. I intend to enjoy all the events and the company of friends, family and colleagues.
However I have a more personal goal for New Year which is to become fitter.I am looking for a way to self motivate; to get out more and physically work my body. I am looking for something that works me without it feeling like a chore - an enjoyable, fun activity.
My final wish is for all of us: May the year ahead be one of peace, health and prosperity.

The "Magik" has done its magic
3 people and 4 tickets!!!!!!
We saw those 2 guys waiting outside the theatre. We asked them if they can manage to get 1 ticket, we can give them 1 ticket. These guys got one & we also would have wasted the ticket otherwise. While entering, ticket checker asked us where is the fourth one? We told he is coming. Amazing seats……. It’s actually a sofa meant for 2 to sit. I and Vandna took one sofa. On other sofa Divya waiting for the guy to come, to whom we sold the ticket hehehee.
We saw 2 guys and a girl sitting. We went to them asking if they would mind sitting in this couple seat. We were fortunate that they agreed.
Then about movie The "Magik" has done its magic. The crucial aspect is being passionate about the thing you love. About pursuing your passion. I liked Purab Kohli’s (Killer Drummer-KD) character. "Rock On" left all of us feeling happy even hours after we had left the theater. I would say that the movie is a must watch! All Songs in the movie are good. I liked “Tum ho to gata he dil……..” song the most.
So Rock On and Keep Rocking!!!!!

Farewell Party at work
It’s just 20 people team. If people continue to leave at the same pace then in few weeks the team will be of size NULL.
Rohit left on 8/8/08. What a special day is this day. Its 08-08-08, means August 08, 2008…So what is it with this 888 that makes it special? Not only that it’s a good luck numbers but also the beginning of the most anticipated, most awaited Beijing Olympic! Yes OLYMPICS! For those who are sports minded people, it’ll be the time where their hours and eyes are set on their televisions for every game that they’re countrymen will be playing….
Rohit Leaving the team didn’t come as a surprise for anyone. He left for higher studies. He is a person who's got talent. A wonderful person to work with and was a great asset for the company too. A laugh riot, this person single handedly can bring to life any dull party. He really lights up the groups. We had a lot of laughs...Yesterday we (Buddy, Deepak, Rashmi and me) had a small farewell gathering at Rashmi’s house. We gonna miss him.
Another one who resigned, is Guru(14-08-08), my cubicle-mate. Miya is what we used to call him. The way he speaks Hindi is amazing which is called Hyderbadi Hindi. Soon he will be getting married. Wishing you all the best in your future undertakings! And don’t forget to call us for your marriage.

HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY!!!
A quick search tells me only this:
In 1935 American Government had killed a person on 1st Saturday of August the next day his friend died committing suicide. In his memory American Government had declared 1st Sunday of every August as Friendship day.
We are receiving a lot of messages. One of my friends sent me a nice message. Here it goes,
“Its not an achievement to make 1000 friends in a year, but an achievement is when one make a friend like you for 1000 years.” Happy friendship day.
Hope you liked.
So here’s wishing every friend of mine a very Happy Friendship Day!! Every one of you has a special place in my heart and I’d like to thank you all for making my life that much more worth living!!
Hoping that these bonds keep on gathering strength with every passing moment…
Cheers

Wishing one and all a very happy friendship day!!

How much should you make???
Yesterday was the salary day, which is supposed to be the best of all the working days in the month.
Sometime back when I was studying, I had a big list of the things I wanted to do, when I will start earning. So many things I wanted to do.
I remember the day I got 1000 bucks for teaching C as I was considered to be a good C coder in college. I used to enjoy reading more and more books on C. The book I liked the most was “Test you C Skills”…. which had some sample code and you need to find the output. And best part is the output used to be something else than that you would think of. Also the book has a very good explanation about why the output is so. Wait…. I am not publicizing the book.
We used to have open books test, which I cleared most of the times. Those were some of the good moments in life.
What happened to those 1000 bucks? I spent those the very same day buying all the things I wanted. And I was actually happy to get those 1000 bucks. Not that happy to get the salary in my account.
Salary has become a need which ends up paying all the bills/cards.
